You absolutely cannot fault this place, the service, the absolute quality of the scran, free can of pop to compliment it. Me and my partner have made this a regular and we are gutted when he shuts at 3pm and we miss it😢😂 we love the bloke he is absolute as quality as his pie and mash, he needs a pay rise there is no need of how fantastic this whole experience is to us😂😂 makes my day❤️ thank you sir🫡 (I’d love a chicken pie added tho😉🤣)

Just happened to pass this little shop in Westerhope and I was immediately intrigued, being a pie lover and quite hungry at the time. I purchased the mince pe that came with lovely mash and proper mushy peas with gorgeous rich gravy. I hoped it was as nice as it looked and I wasn't disappointed! Wow !; it was excellent and for the price unbeatable. Really pleasant chap who served me my extravaganza as well, Definitely recommend and will definitely be back soon!,

Can I just say this place is smashing it! We came on Saturday to try for the first time want to mention how welcoming they were but the food 😍😍 we came after seeing this place on instagram and pies are right up our street, these guys really know what they are doing. I got the mince pie and my partner got the lamb, the meat just falls apart, the mash is creamy and buttery and goes great with the mushy peas and gravy. Everything just tasted great and I can’t get over that it was only £7.50. This was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last.

Absolutely fantastic. I have been on several occasions now, at different times during the day, and it is spot on every time - you cannot put a price on consistency these days with all the rubbish takeaways about. The food is delicious and perfectly seasoned. Mash is creamy with a herby flavour, peas are proper thick mushy peas (not the watery crap you get from other places), beautifully rich gravy and extremely tasty pies. I live in the local area and am very happy about this addition to our front street. £7.50 is a very fair price given the portions are very generous. Also, a worthy shout out to the staff, the two blokes running the shop (as well as the owner) are so bloody nice, extremely friendly chaps. If you're considering trying it, just do it. Don't read into the social media trolls who have probably not even tried it. I can see myself frequenting this shop at least once a week in the colder months. Highly recommend.

Pie. Mash.
Gravy.

A proper warm, homely plate — done the traditional way, right here in Westerhope. Scroll, and watch it come out of the dark.

The Pie

Crimped by hand, glazed deep

Shortcrust made fresh, packed with slow-cooked filling and baked until the lid goes dark and glossy. The tastiest pies on Tyneside, we'll stand by that.

The Mash

Creamed smooth, swept up the side

Proper mash, whipped soft and spread up the wall of the bowl in one stroke — the traditional way, never a scoop. It's there to carry the gravy.

The Peas

Mushy, minted, unmistakable

Marrowfat peas steeped overnight and simmered down to that bright green. The sharp, sweet note that cuts through the richness of everything else in the bowl.

The Gravy

Ribboned over the lot

Dark, glossy and cooked down for hours — drizzled over the whole bowl the moment before it reaches your hands. The tastiest gravy going. This is what you came for.
